Is accreditation important?

The short answer is YES.  Deciding on the best education for your children is one of the most important decisions you will make.  We understand the importance of this decision and want to provide you with an unbiased, third party opinion that you can use in making your decision.  Additionally, we believe this shows our commitment to quality, our commitment to continuously improve, and ultimately our commitment to you and your children.

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School is accredited by AdvancED (formally known as SACS/CASI).  This Accreditation Process provides schools with a comprehensive framework for continually improving student learning and school effectiveness.

The AdvancED accreditation standards and indicators focus on five areas: (1) Purpose and Direction; (2) Governance and Leadership; (3) Teaching and Assessing for Learning; (4) Resources and Support Systems; and, (5) Using Results for Continuous Improvement. Blue Ribbon School of Excellence

“The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and non-public elementary, middle, and high schools where students achieve at very high levels. The Program sets a standard of excellence for all schools striving for the highest level of achievement. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program is part of a larger U. S. Department of Education effort to identify and disseminate knowledge about best school leadership and teaching practices. Each year since 1982, the U.S. Department of Education has sought out schools where students attain and maintain high academic goals.”– U. S. Department of Education website

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School was named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 2007.  We are very proud of the fact that we were one of the first schools in the area to receive this prestigious award.
