Media Specialists

Mrs. Angela Finn

Mrs. Finn was born in the small community of Crawfordsville, Indiana where she spent most of her childhood.  She attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and met her husband Steve.   Before moving to North Carolina, she also lived in Texas and New York.

In addition to her school volunteer experiences as a parent, she worked as a media specialist for two years in a large K-5 public elementary school and began to explore the media specialist requirements for certification.  She is very excited to be a part of Our Lady of Lourdes School and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Library Science from ECU.

She is the very proud (and busy) parent of three children – a daughter and twin boys – all middle school students at Our Lady of Lourdes.  She has a Labrador retriever, JC, and a cat named Lucky.  Her favorite past-times/hobbies include antique and flea market shopping, spending time with her family, flower gardening, reading and swimming.

Mrs. Yvonne Roughton

Mrs. Roughton, library assistant to Mrs. Finn, was the former Our Lady of Lourdes School librarian for twenty years. Assisting Mrs. Finn allows her to continue working with our students and building a bigger, better collection of books.

She earned a BS degree in Business Education at East Carolina University and taught at Central High School in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, before raising a family of four. She is the proud grandmother of two, Matthew and Anna.
