School Counselor

In addition to the excellent teaching staff at Our Lady of Lourdes School, there is a part-time school counselor available to students, parents, and faculty.  She is available to meet with students individually who may be experiencing stress due to peer pressure, academics, or family changes.  Referrals to resources in the community may be provided as necessary. 

The counselor also leads class discussions on such topics as bullying and conflict resolution through the Second Step curriculum produced by the Committee for Children in Seattle, Washington.  Other topics covered are preventing drug and alcohol abuse and preparing for college.
