Mrs. Jan Kimosh, K-4
Mrs. Kimosh is beginning her nineteenth year as an Art Specialist at Our Lady of Lourdes. She is a graduate of Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, with a major in graphic design and a minor in education. A certified K-12 Art Specialist, she has taught in both private and public elementary, middle and high schools in California, Ohio and North Carolina. She also occasionally teaches at the North Carolina Museum of Art for their Saturday classes.
When not teaching at Lourdes, Mrs. Kimosh may be found working on her paintings and collages. She has displayed her artwork at Wake Med, Sertoma Arts Center, Jordan Arts Center, the Carter Building Studios, the Wake County Commissioners Offices and has donated numerous pieces to fundraising events.
Mrs. Kimosh is married to Joe, who works for ConAgra Foods. She has two sons, Peter and Michael.
Mrs. Cindi Messina
This is Mrs. Messina’s eleventh year teaching
art in the diocese of Raleigh. She graduated from William Paterson University
majoring in Art Education and Graphic Design. She has also taught at the
Montclair Art Museum and New York University School of Continuing Education.
Mrs. Messina has ten years experience in advertising as a Senior Art Director
where she won a John Caples Award and a Direct Marketing Creative Guild Award
for her design in advertising. Many art projects at Lourdes reflect her design
experience and love of art history. She and her husband, Michael, have three
children.
Ms. Thais Lopes - Art Assistant
Thais Lopes was born in New York City. She attended a private Catholic school there until second grade, where upon she moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and finished her elementary education at another private Catholic school. She moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, at the age of thirteen and completed both public middle and high schools. Thais recently received her Bachelors of Art and Design from North Carolina State University's College of Design. Her aspirations are to become an art teacher, and she is eager to earn some experience by helping the art teachers at Our Lady of Lourdes. She has volunteered in many places, helping kids create art (even at Our Lady of Lourdes), and looks forward to a great year.
