HOW TO APPLY

 

Children who enter the Kindergarten program must be five years of age by August 31st

 

Applications are accepted beginning on September 1st for the following school year.  Application forms may be downloaded from our website and turned into the office. Application packets are also available at the school and parish main offices.   A $50.00 non-refundable application fee is to accompany the completed application.  Applicants who have applied for a particular school year which has no availabilities must contact the Director of Admissions in September to be placed on the following  school year’s waitlist.

 

Students applying for Kindergarten and 1st grade will be required to take a screening test as condition of acceptance.  Children will only be screened if a seat is available. In addition, children who are applying for 1st thru 8th grade must include with their application a most recent report card, current principal’s name and number and current teacher’s name and number.  Current principal and teachers will be contacted before acceptance. All applicants for 2nd thru 8th  grade will be required to interview with the Our Lady of Lourdes School Principal previous to acceptance. Applications without applicable copies attached are considered incomplete and are removed from the priority of admissions order until they are complete.

Birth Certificate, Immunization Record, Baptismal Certificate, and First Communion Certificate (if applicable) need to be in the applicants file as soon as possible to complete the file.

Admission is based on the match of the student’s needs, abilities and achievement to Our Lady of Lourdes School.  The above listed information is the criteria which will be used to determine this match.

 

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

 

As openings become available the following will be used to prioritize applicants according to date received:

 

  1. Children of full time school or parish staff members
  2. Siblings of currently enrolled students and alumni of OLLS
  3. Previously enrolled students of OLLS
  4. Registered parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes Church
  5. Parishioners of other Catholic parishes
  6. Others

 

Applicants may be reprioritized at the discretion of the principal.

 

All new students will be given a probationary period in which to prove himself/herself both academically and socially.
